1 cup butter, softened

2 cups Einkorn Flour

Filling

1 1/2 cups organic evaporated can juice crystals

1/4 cup Einkorn Flour

4 eggs

2 lemons, juiced (1/2 cup juice)

1 drop Lemon essential oil  (I like 5 lemon or lime drops)

Directions:

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2.  In a medium bowl, blend together softened butter, 2 cups Einkorn Flour, and 1/2 cu can juice crystals.  Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9×13 – inch pan.  Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven or until firm and golden.

3.  In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 1/2 cups can juice crystals and 1/4 cup Einkorn Flour.  Whisk in the eggs, lemon juice, and Lemon Oil.  Pour over the baked crust.

4.  Bake for an additional 20 minutes in the preheated oven.  The bars will firm up as they cool.

5.  Cut into bars and enjoy!

Inhalation Applications

One of the most important things to consider as we use our oils is our intention.  Our thoughts whether negative or good thoughts can alter the effectiveness of the oil.

According to David Stewart, author of The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple, …”essential oils were measured before and after being bombarded with negative thoughts.  Their frequencies went down by 12 MHz.  When positive thoughts were aimed at the oils, their frequencies went up by 10 MHz.  When the oils were prayed over, their resonant frequencies went up by 15 MHz.  Oils amplify intent.  And intent will move molecules of oil to where they can best serve as needed.  That is why prayer and anointing with essential oils work so well when combined together.”

So as you apply, affirm to yourself:

Every day, In every way, I am getting better and better.

I release the past and honor my present life.

I am healthy, happy and joyous.

I open my heart to receiving love.

An endless supply of love energy flows around me at all times.

Not only is intention important, but how you apply your oils to your body.  Using your dominant hand, drop the oils into your non-dominant hand, using circles before applying to area.

Direct inhalation – add 1 to 2 drops to palm of non dominant hand and rub clockwise three times and inhale deeply .   You can add 1 to drops to a tissue and hold near nose and inhale deeply.

Gary Young, Young Living Founder says when you want to DE-PROGRAM faulty DNA, use counter-clockwise circles, and then always follow up with clockwise circles that RE-PROGRAM the DNA correctly.

Nasal inhalers.  Essential oils are dropped on to the wick and then the wick is inserted into the inhaler after which the base is secured to the bottom.  The individual inhales the essential oils through the hole on the top of the inhaler.  Usually 15-20 drops of blended essential oil are put in the inhaler.

Vaporizers – add 5 -10 drops of essential oil to either a warm or cool water vaporizer.  (Make sure your vaporizer allows this)

Diffusers - There are many different types of diffusers .  Purchase a cold air diffuser and follow the instructions using essential oils to be used in the electric diffuser.

Steam inhalation – add 5-10 drops of essential oil(s) to a bowl of steaming water and then place a towel over your head and the bowl and inhale deeply for several minutes.  Use caution with oils and eyes should be kept shut to avoid the vapors irritating the.

Safety Cautions on inhalation:  it is difficult to estimate the amount of essential oil being inhaled as it can depend on many factors such as proportions of constituents entering the nose, duration of inhalation and method of inhalation.

Note:  According to Tisserand (2013) it is unlikely that sufficient essential oil vapor will be inhaled under normal circumstances to represent a toxic hazard.  Toxicity is more likely to occur from the accidental inhalation of oils i.e. large spill or working with essential oils for a long period of time in a closed environment.

Topical Applications

Bath – because essential oils tend to sit on top of water, it is recommended that they be diluted in a carrier oil, Epsom salt, or sea salts and then add them to the bath water.

Foot bath – dilute about 5 drops of essential oil(s) in either salts or a carrier oil and add to a lukewarm bowl of foot bath.  Soak feet for 10-15 minutes.

Mists – the base of a  mist could be simply water or a hydrosol (or a combination of each).  Because the majority of essential oils sit on top of the water/hydrosol, the bottle will have to be shaken before each use.  Another alternative is to use an emulsifier, which is a molecule which dissolves in both water and oil.  They allow normally insoluble lipophilic substances such as essential oils and vegetable oils (for lotion) to mix with water.  When emulsifiers are put into water, they turn the water milky as they are dispersed throughout the water without leaving an oily film on the surface.

Compress – add a couple of drops of essential oil(s) to a bowl of warm or cool water (depending on desired outcome).  Place a hand towel in the water and wring out excess.  Place compress on particular area of body.

Ointments – are typically made with a combination of carrier oils and beeswax.  There are many excellent recipes for making ointment depending on the desired outcome.  Typically the carrier oils are heated separately from the beeswax and it is important to make sure the temperature of the carrier oils is the same or slightly higher than the temperature of the beeswax, otherwise you may end up with a “gritty” texture.

Gels – are usually clear or semi-opaque and can be made from water and a thickening agent, such as a polymer of polysaccharide or be produced naturally in plants i.e., aloe gel.  Gels are usually oil-free but can sometimes have a small amount of oil.  Gels generally absorb better than lotion and creams and do not leave a visible film on the skin.

Sitz Bath – also known as a hip baths.  Using either a bowl or a bath tub, fill with enough hot water to cover the hips up to the waist only.  Add 5 drops of essential oil(s) to either a carrier oil or salts and soak in the bath for 5-10 minutes.

Douches – a douche is a vaginal wash using essential oils diluted in water.  Add 5-10 drops of essential oil(s) to one litre of warm water and shake the mixture well.  Add one tablespoon of cider vinegar to help maintain the pH balance.  This mixture can be used in a sits bath, bidet, or in an enema or douche pot (can be found at most drugstores/pharmacies.)  Douches should not be used on a regular basis because they can disrupt the normal, healthy bacterial balance.  Some aromatherapy associations do not recommend use of douches i.e.  the Alliance of International Aromatherapists.

Lotions – very easy to make from scratch with the benefit of knowing exactly what is in the lotion.  Also, you can purchase ready-made natural lotions from many suppliers.
